Integrated Environment for Data Management of Mining Waste Disposals

Researchers at the Geoengineering and Mineral Processing Study Centre of the Italian Research Council, have developed a database system integrated with a GIS (Geographical Information System),jor data collection on operational or closed waste disposal sites. This paper describes the objectives of the system, the data organisation, the structure of the database, the characteristics and functionality of the GIS.
